Author: Basaky D. Basaky, PhD. & Bakare Kareem, PhD.
Abstract: The exponential growth of cloud computing is changing the way organizations are functioning now a days. A cloud based system changes the services seamlessly without expending much time and resources in setting up new systems. Apart from this, there are lots of benefits like scalability, significant cost reduction, high availability and quality in a cloud based system. Although there are many advantages cloud computing, issues related with security and privacy are some of the major challenges, which needs to be addressed for the successful deployment of a cloud based system. Therefore, it is absolutely critical to have a robust security services fully implemented based on cloud-based security framework/Guidelines. At present there are a number of standard security framework/Guidelines like ISO 27001/27002, NIST 800-53, but all these standard are in evolving stage for the cloud computing Environment. Apart from this, the security requirements of an organization also vary based on specific security risks of the organization. This paper first introduces a new set of security control Theory. These principles theory is based on People, Process and Technology Theory (P2T2) from the Enhance Concept Security Matrix (ECSM) basically a cloud based Security Framework CSF.   Keywords: Cloud-Based, Security Framework, Security Requirements, Cloud Computing View

5 Title: MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING AND PRODUCTION A CASE STUDY OF PORT HARCOURT REFINING COMPANY.pdf
Author: Osaroeyaa Princewill & Naam Jonathan
Abstract: The Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) is a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). PHRC major problem is the allocation of raw materials for the production of petroleum products. Most persons erroneously believe that the only raw material for the production of some petroleum products like the premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel in Local palace, Automotive gas oil (AGO) diesel, kerosene, cooking gas (Methane) etc is the petroleum, but the actual fact is that several chemicals called additives are usually mixed in certain proportion to petroleum at various temperature to get these petroleum products. However, the inability of Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) management to get the profitable proportion of this production mix is responsible for the unbearable scarcity of these petroleum products despite the many turn-around maintenances (TAM) embarked upon by successive government. To solve this production mix problem, the linear programming method, as a mathematical programming tool, which has been acceptable as the best method of solving a production mix problem was applied and the  result, which is a feasible solution that will enable the management of the Port Harcourt refining company (PHRC) solve the production mix problem was clearly stated. 6 Title: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE NUTRITIONAL AND MINERAL VALUES OF LAND FERN (PTERIDIUM AQUILINUM) AND WATER FERN (NEPHOLEPSIS BISERRATA) CONSUMED IN OKWALE COMMUNITY, NIGERIA.pdf
Author: Nyodee G.T., Miikue – Yobe, T. F. B. & Ntaah, L. D.
Abstract: This work was on the comparative analysis of the nutritional and mineral values of land fern (Pteridium aquilinum) and water fern (Nephrolepsis biserrata) consumed in Okwale Community, Nigeria. The parameters were analyzed using standard methods of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC, 2006), flame Spectrophotometer and atomic absorption Spectrophotometer. In this study, the moisture (83.33%), protein (7.00), and carbohydrate (6.25%) contents of Pteridium aquilinum was higher than the moisture (66.41%), protein (6.56%) and carbohydrate (5.208%) contents of Nephrolepsis biserrata. However, the fibre (10.002%), lipid (9.60%) and ash (2.20%) contents of Nephrolepsis biserrata was higher than fibre (0.62%), lipid (1.30%) and ash (1.50%) contents of Pteridium aquilinum. The mineral values of Pteridium aquilinum and Hephrolepsis biserrata also showed that the potassium (4318.950 mg/kg), iron (689.70 mg/kg), magnesium (465.15 mg/kg), calcium 361.10 mg/kg), sulphate (229.950 mg/kg), sodium (163.65 mg/kg), zinc (107.70 mg/kg), manganese (51.95 mg/kg), phosphorus (36.33 mg/kg), and copper (4.15 mg/kg) contents of Pteridium aquilinum were higher than  potassium (78.672 mg/kg), iron (337.40 mg/kg), magnesium (436.20 mg/kg), calcium (135.15 mg/kg), sulphate (114.975 mg/kg), sodium (128.00 mg/kg), zinc (87.70 mg/kg), manganese (43.85 mg/kg), phosphorus (35.82 mg/kg), and copper (1.90 mg/kg) contents of Nephrolepsis biserrata. Chromium was not detected in both ferns. However, the calculated mean value of the minerals of Ptgeridium aquilinum (642.863 mg/kg) is higher than that of Nephrolepsis biserrata (39.967 mg/kg). This is a clear indication that Pteridium aquilinum is more nutritious than Nephrolepsis biserrata. This study therefore recommends that both ferns should be consumed with more preference on Pteridium aquilinum (land fern). Author: Eunice C. Victor–Ishikaku,PhD.
Abstract: Universities in Nigeria are vested with the responsibility of producing manpower for the labour market. To carry out the affairs of the universities to meet this target requires making policies to govern her affairs and activities. Managing such policies properly therefore is vital to the effective and efficient performance of the universities. This can only be done through effective communication. Communication is the network that connects and holds individuals in the institution together; to work together in harmony to achieve the goals of the policies made. It therefore implies that policies must be communicated effectively and efficiently within the system; the individuals in the system must know how to manage such policies by communicating them effectively as at when due for the institution to meet its aims and objectives. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a nexus that connects individual for efficient information management; making information to be received just-in-time for proper policy implementation and performance. The discourse of this paper therefore is on the key position of ICT in effective policy management for efficient performance in the universities. It posits the application of ICT in information management in the university system as the nexus between policy making and its implementation to achieve the goals of the university system. 12 Title: ESTIMATION OF PARAMETERS CONNECTED ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY OF METALS.pdf
Author: Ogbonda Clement
Abstract: Different parameters attached to the electrical conductivity of regular metals are evaluated plus are communicated as far as general constants. It happens that they are near those found in metallic copper at room temperature. The way that the acknowledgment of the model happens at room temperature is clarified by utilizing the Landauers deletion guideline. The arrived at the midpoint of crash time of the electron of conduction is likewise thought as a molecule lifetime. At long last a relationship is built up between the movement of the electron of conduction plus the cosmological consistent issue, where a round surface of span equivalent to the electron mean free way has been thought as a surface skyline for the charge bearers. Author: Ojekudo Nathaniel Akpofure, PhD.
Abstract: Cryptocurrency has attracted great attention in academic, financial and well as technology. Behind the cryptocurrency is the Blockchain, which is a decentralized digital ledger which records all verified transaction on the network. Transactions within the blockchain are verified using one of many consensus algorithms to resolve the problem of reliability involving many distributed nodes which keep copies of the ledger. This paper presents a comprehensive overview on blockchaintechnology and consensus problems. Since the Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS) are the most widely used consensus algorithm amongst cryptocurrency. This study attempts to comparatively analyze typical PoW and PoS consensus algorithm based on performance and security metrics. Finally, we present our conclusion based on our analysis, which suggests that PoS algorithm appears to perform better than PoW algorithm especially on performance metrics such as transaction rate, cost and energy and scalability.  However, PoW performs better on security metrics such as; cost of attack, coin age accumulation attack, precomputing attack, nothing at stake problem and initial distribution problem. Future Blockchain Consensus algorithm should consider implementing innovative improvements on both performance and security metrics.  KEYWORDS: Cryptocurrency, Proof of Work, Proof of Stake View
